The German car manufacturer known as Audi, started life like most car companies. With the ideas, determination, and dream of one revolutionary person. Since 1909, Audi has been producing various automobiles, all of which laid the foundations for the Audi icons to come. Among these are the Audi 90, and the Audi Quattro.
While the company has experienced some lows along with its highs, since 2000 it has received steady sales growth, made possible by successful cars just a few years prior. The Audi A3 is a small family car that has been produced since 1996, which shares stylings and engineering from other Audi cars, like the Audi TT. And because the A3 is based on the Volkswagen Group A platform as well, it also gets elements from the Volkswagen Golf, Touran, and Caddy. There are two generations of Audi A3, the first of which was produced between 1996 and 2003. This generation started with using the A4 platform, and looked very similar to the Volkswagen Golf Mk4. It featured both diesel and petrol powered engines, starting with the 1.6L I4 variant, going up to a 1.9L Turbo Diesel I4 variant.
The A3 has since gone through many changes, such as headlights, rear lights, improved interior, introducing a 6 speed manual gearbox, and a four-wheel drive version.

Those who can afford it, however, can go for the more modern second generation A3. This generation, first produced in 2003 and still being manufactured today, uses a new PQ35 platform, and has been redesigned to have a larger interior, new and improved petrol engines, and a standard 6-speed gearbox. Soon after it was released, two sports models were introduced, featuring larger and more powerful engines, and better engineering.
Since then, it has received many updates and changes to its original look, all subtle, yet still noticeable. But it’s not just with new headlights and trim, or other aesthetic changes. One model in particular, the Audi A3 2.0 TDI, is being dubbed as a “clean diesel” car, which will feature some of the most modern Audi technology to date.
