When motorcycle enthusiasts Sir William Lyons and William Walmsley developed Jaguar Cars Ltd., neither of them probably expected what the brand would be like today. The name Jaguar has become synonymous with luxury and speed today, and is known the whole world over for these characteristics.
In 1922, the Swallow Sidecar Company was born, the precursor to Jaguar Cars, the name that replaced Swallow Sidecar Company in 1945. When Sir William Lyons and William Walmsley sold the company to Rubery Owen, Jaguar began making sports cars, and gained international fame for it. In 1949, Jaguar sales soared, because of the cutting-edge sports cars the company produced, like the XK120, the XK140, and the XK150. Soon fans were waiting for the next Jaguar for sale, proof that the car company was beginning to gain its well-deserved respect.
Soon, the company began to include luxury, upper class saloon sedans to their production line-up, and produced them in larger quantities than the sports cars. At first, success was only moderate, with the Mark 1 and Mark 2, and the XJ6 and the XJ12. But soon, more and more people began to recognize the value for their price, as well as appreciate the smooth handling, unparalleled comfort, high-class performance, and elegant style.

Since then, the Jaguar XJ has become a staple for the car company, and they have produced numerous versions of it over the years. Today, there are many a Jaguar XJ for sale, ranging from the classic first generation from 1968, to the modern Jaguar XJ (X351) of 2009.
Jaguar again entered racing back in the 1950s, and sold to race car drivers using their reputation for building high-quality vehicles. The company has been very successful, not just in sales, but also in racing victories. The C-type experienced very good success, and was driven to numerous victories by very talented drivers. And while Jaguar has all but faded away from racing since 2004, racing is in the company’s blood, and can be felt in the cars that it has produced over the years.
A good example of this is the Jaguar XK, a grand tourer that was first produced in 1996. While considered a grand tourer, the car can still reach top speeds of around 249 km/h, and features top-notch suspension, steering, and brakes. It also comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, self-leveling Xenon headlamps, all-leather interior, and many other luxurious features.
Like the XJ, there are many a Jaguar XK for sale in numerous used car showrooms and Jaguar dealerships all over the world. Whether used or brand new, a Jaguar car is truly a good investment for car lovers and Jaguar fans.
